Crée en 1962, l’association des « Amis du Vieux Corbie » regroupe les amoureux de Corbie et les défenseurs de son patrimoine. Elle s'engage activement dans la préservation et la valorisation de l’histoire locale, en organisant des conférences ouvertes au public, en gérant un musée dédié à l'histoire et au patrimoine de la cité, et en participant à divers événements culturels au cours de l'année.
L'association organise également des réunions d'études entre ses membres pour approfondir leurs connaissances et rechercher des sources liées à l'histoire de la cité de Corbie à travers les siècles.
Sur le plan international, l'association entretient des relations privilégiées avec Höxter et Pickering, villes d’Allemagne et de Grande-Bretagne jumelées avec Corbie.
Elle est également à l’origine de nombreux échanges avec plusieurs bibliothèques françaises et étrangères de renom où sont conservés des manuscrits de l’abbaye de Corbie, tels que la Bibliothèque Nationale de Russie à Saint Petersbourg, la Deutsche Staatsbibliothek de Berlin, la Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana de Florence, la British Library de Londres, la Bibliothèque municipale d’Amiens et la Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris.
Founded in 1962, the "Les Amis du Vieux Corbie" association unites those who love Corbie and are dedicated to preserving its heritage. The association is actively involved in the preservation and promotion of local history by organizing public conferences, managing a museum dedicated to the city's history and heritage, and participating in various cultural events throughout the year.
The association also hosts study meetings among its members to deepen their knowledge and research sources related to Corbie's history across the centuries.
On an international level, the association maintains strong relationships with Höxter in Germany and Pickering in Great Britain, both of which are twin towns with Corbie.
Additionally, the association has initiated numerous exchanges with several renowned libraries in France and abroad, where manuscripts from the Abbey of Corbie are preserved. These include the National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg, the Deutsche Staatsbibliothek in Berlin, the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence, the British Library in London, the Municipal Library of Amiens, and the National Library of Paris.
